CAPD/ACPD Annual Session

This lecture with hands-on workshop will provide a basis of knowledge for new materials for pulp therapy and cementation.

Objectives:

• Review traditional and bioactive materials for primary and young permanent teeth.
• Understand the properties and benefits of bioactive cements.
• Demonstrate competency in mixing/placement of MTA for Pulpotomy and Indirect Pulp Capping.
• Ensure successful cementation of Zirconia Crowns.

and includes a 1gm kit of NuSmile NeoMTA as well as a 2.5mL Syringe of NuSmile BioCem cement.

Mark Binford has a Chemical Engineering degree from Univ. of Texas –Austin, he is a co-author of two US patents for the chemical applications of material in the oil and gas processing. His experience in business development, marketing, and sales has included medical device manufacturing, engineered software applications and specialty chemicals for large publicly held corporations including Symantec, BMC Software, Betz Laboratories and Citgo. Mr. Binford is currently Senior Vice President for new product development at NuSmile in Houston, Texas where he recently lead the development and marketing of their new bioactive cement, BioCem. Mr. Binford is well informed about the challenges in the clinical practice of pediatric dentistry as he attends many of the national and international dental conventions representing NuSmile.
